Olga Sorzano’s acclaimed kombucha business gets its name from the grandmother who helped raise her as a child in southern Siberia. Having just reached a seven-year milestone, Baba’s Brew continues to occupy prime space on market shelves throughout the region.

Kombucha is a sweet, slightly fizzy fermented tea beverage rich in probiotics and live enzymes. Sorzano uses organic fair-trade teas and sugars, partnering with local farmers for seasonal produce to create different flavors with names like Bee’s Knees and Ruby Sipper. Sorzano uses honey and blueberries from New Jersey, and the Flower Power variety combines local lavender and chamomile for calming notes that offset the sweetness. You can also find Baba’s Brew on tap at Kimberton Whole Foods, Kensington Quarters, Sammy’s Bullfrog Cafe, Mary Pat’s Provisions and Talula’s Table.
